At our weekly Tuesday EA Cafe at Edith Avenue Baptist. Where meals are served without charge to all who come through our doors. We shall observe Shrove Tuesday. Yes, we Baptists shall do that.
Homemade Pancake Batter. With and without milk.
To me a Homemade Pancake batter is entirely to taste and feel. I will be adding Hemp Hearts to some of the batter.
Hemp Hearts is an item worthy of its own blog.
Amazing is all I will say for now!
Where this gets interesting is the decision I made at a previous Shrove Tuesday EA Cafe, to fold the sausage and bacon into the potato hash. While we desire to help those in need we are not in a place yet of being able to afford individual servings of bacon and sausage for this meal. If we hope to keep the meal at a no charge offering.
So at the first Shrove Tuesday, my wonderful staff and I made a large 20 Litre Roaster Pan helping of Mashed Potatoes, Sauteed Onions, Chopped Sausage and Bacon.
How much Is Needed? How much bacon and sausage do you want in your pan? Don't overpower the potatoes and the spices.
I use the 2 KG package of sausage from Costco. A good product.
Can't really say.
Mash the potatoes. Fold the chopped sauteed onions, chopped cooked bacon and sausage in and cook until brown the edges. About 350 degrees. Turn down if cooking too fast.
If you want. Remove pan from roaster and finish under grill in oven.
What made a Big Difference in the Taste of this Creation?
Clubhouse Garlic Plus and some extra Garlic.
Added to the potatoes while they are being mashed.
Very tasty and have had repeated requests to do this on a day other then Shrove Tuesday.
Grace and Peace
Happy Eating
